William D. Ford Direct Loan Program
Graduate PLUS

Under the Direct Loan program, Graduate PLUS loans are borrowed directly from the federal government (U.S. Department of Education). Eligibility and approval for this loan is based on a credit check, which is performed by the U.S. Department of Education.  Please feel free to contact the Direct Loan Servicing Center at 1-800-848-0979 for any questions regarding the Direct Loan Graduate PLUS.

Terms: 

• The interest rate is a fixed 7.9%.
• Graduate PLUS Loans under the Direct Loan program deduct a 4% origination fee (as of July 1, 2012).  
  Example: a $15,000 Graduate PLUS loan will net $14,400.  Please keep this in mind while calculating the actual net amount needed!

Step 1: Please complete the “Direct Graduate PLUS Loan Application” which can be printed out by clicking HERE.
All sections of this application need to be completed! Once completed, please fax or mail the form directly to us.

Step 2: Please complete the Direct Loan Grad PLUS Entrance Counseling by clicking HERE. 

Once you complete the Entrance Counseling, please continue to Step 3.

Step 3: All Graduate PLUS loan borrowers must complete an electronic
Master Promissory Note (e-MPN).

Your loan will NOT be processed until you have completed all of the above steps.
