COLUMBIA UNIVERSITY PROFESSOR DR. RONALD BRESLOW TO PRESENT YESHIVA UNIVERSITY'S ANNUAL KUKIN CHEMISTRY LECTURE NOVEMBER 12
New York, NY, October 16, 2003—Dr. Ronald Breslow, Samuel Latham Mitchill Professor of Chemistry and University Professor at Columbia University, will present the 2003 Ira Kukin Chemistry Lecture, "The Chemistry-Biology Interface," at Yeshiva University on Wednesday, November 12.
In 1997, Chemical &
Engineering News named him one of the top 75 contributors to the chemical
enterprise in the past 75 years; and, in 1999 he won the Priestley Medal,
the American Chemical Society’s most prestigious award. In 2000
he won the New York City Mayor's Award in Science and two years later,
he received the American Chemical Society Bader Award in Bioorganic or
Bioinorganic Chemistry and the Esselen Award for Chemistry in the Public
Interest. He has held more than 150 named and visiting professorships
and contributed to some 400 publications.
