Student Injury and

Sickness Insurance

Students who are registered for 6 or more credit hours are eligible to participate in the Yeshiva University Student Injury and Sickness Insurance Plan administered by Academic Health Plans and insured by ACE American Insurance Company. Dependents of any student registered for at least 9 credit hours and participating in the plan are also eligible for the plan.

Yeshiva University does not assume responsibility for medical costs incurred by students, including those participating in athletic programs. Consequently, students are financially responsible for their own health care. This includes having medical, hospital and surgical insurance. Undergraduate students are often covered under their parents’ health insurance plan and additional coverage may not be necessary. However, the availability and adequacy of student coverage under a parent’s health insurance should, each year, be evaluated and confirmed. Many plans provide only limited coverage outside of the immediate local network boundaries. The student's coverage under a parent's insurance plan may end during the school year for various reasons, including a change in the parent's insurance plan or the marriage of the student.

Many students count on their insurance to help in the payment of fairly routine medical expenses. A few of our students have needed expensive treatments which may serve as a reminder that the potential of hefty medical costs is another reason for buying medical insurance.

Or you can download the plan enrollment form from "Enroll (Pay by check)" and mail it to Academic Health Plans at P.O. Box 1605, Colleyville, TX 76034-1605. After you have enrolled in the plan, Academic Health Plans will send you an insurance identification card.
