William Arsenio

Professor of Psychology, Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology

Dr. William Arsenio received his PhD in child development from Stanford University in 1985 and was an NIMH Postdoctoral Fellow at U.C. Berkeley in 1985–1986. His research interests include connections between emotion knowledge and psychopathology, affective influences on aggression and externalizing behaviors, as well as affective influences on school performance.

American Psychological Association (Fellow, Division 7), Society for Research in Child Development, Jean Piaget Society and American Psychological Society.

Associate Editor—Merrill Palmer Quarterly, Editorial Board—Early Education and Development and Consulting, Editor—Child Development.

Co-organized the first five meetings of the "Preconference on Emotional Competence" held during the biennial meeting of the Society for Research in Child Development.
