The Mechinah Program invites you to experience Jewish life and scholarship in a unique and embracing setting.
The Yeshiva University Mechinah Program on the Wilf Campus in Manhattan’s Washington Heights neighborhood is part of the Judaic studies component of Yeshiva College and Sy Syms School of Business. The Mechinah curriculum offers an array of exciting opportunities for men to explore Jewish learning, living, and personal growth.
Mechinah students are welcomed into a vibrant Jewish community. Rabbinical students from YU’s affiliated Rabbi Isaac Elchanan Theological Seminary act as mentors for men in the Mechinah Program, serving as partners and sounding boards as students delve into Jewish learning.

The Mechinah Program encompasses students from across the globe, including Italy, France, and Morocco. They participate in inspirational Shabbat retreats and enjoy Shabbat hospitality in the homes of their mentors, teachers, and community members. The Mechinah Program offers its own daily minyan, or students are free to join one of the many prayer services held on campus.
The Mechinah curriculum emphasizes fundamental proficiency in classical Jewish texts, courses in Hebrew language, Jewish history, Talmud, Hasidism, Biblical archaeology, Ashkenazic and Sephardic laws and customs, mysticism, Jewish ethical movements, and Jewish philosophy and thought. Students are encouraged to ask questions and develop their own path to Jewish knowledge and observance.
