The Banner Systems project here at Yeshiva University encompasses our many departments and schools within the University. These departments include: Admissions, Course Registration, Student Record Maintenance, Housing, Financial Aid, Billing and Accounts Receivable, Alumni Relations, Institutional Advancement and Production Services (mailings).
We are continually involved in the replacement of smaller either PC databases or mainframe systems throughout the university. As such, the banner system has become one of the most visible and critical applications supported by ITS.
We are continually involved in the replacement of smaller either PC databases or mainframe systems throughout the university. As such, the banner system has become one of the most visible and critical applications supported by ITS (Information Technology Services).
At this time, the Banner Systems Group serves approximately 300+ users. This number is growing as more and more departments within the University community embrace the importance of a unified database. The latest departments to come aboard are Sue Golding Graduate School at AECOM and the Registrar's office at the Medical School.
This team is dedicated to providing the University with efficient and effective methods of using the Banner System. To that end, we are continuously enhancing the banner system by designing custom programs and interfaces that offer easy to use functionality. We also plan and design reports, data extraction for targeted mailings and provide Banner training for new and existing users. Complete implementation services for new departments joining the Banner project are also extended.
The Banner team also provides support for DATA outside of the Banner realm. This is in an effort to satisfy Banner users needing access to solutions outside of the Banner product. We ensure that those solutions interface seamlessly into Banner. We currently have written at least twenty custom interfaces for outside services and databases. These programs download and upload data to and from the Banner database, and sometimes provide an interface for the Banner user to activate the data transfers on their own.
Here is a partial list of currently supported and enhanced interfaces:
